چکیده

The paper presents the system FRANN, which exploits the idea of radial-basis functions for the needs of learning in numeric domains under concept drift. The classiication accuracy of the program compares favourably to that of older algorithms that are based on symbol manipulation. The system tolerates noise and is able to learn symbolic, numeric , and mixed concepts with nonlinear boundaries in environments with abrupt as well as gradual concept drift.

PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT ANT-BASED ALGORITHMS FOR OPTIMIZATION OF MIXED VARIABLE DOMAIN IN CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGNS

Ant colony optimization algorithms (ACOs) have been basically introduced to discrete variable problems and applied to different research domains in several engineering fields. Meanwhile, abundant studies have been already involved to adapt different ant models to continuous search spaces. Assessments indicate competitive performance of ACOs on discrete or continuous domains. Therefore, as poten...

DynamicWEB: Adapting to Concept Drift in COBWEB

Examining concepts that change over time has been an active area of research within data mining. This paper presents a new method that functions in contexts where concept drift is present, while also allowing for modification of the instances themselves as they change over time. This method is well suited to domains where subjects of interest are sampled multiple times, and where they may migra...

Contrast gain control is drift-rate dependent: an informational analysis.

Neurons in the visual cortex code relative changes in illumination (contrast) and adapt their sensitivities to the visual scene by centering the steepest regions of their sigmoidal contrast response functions (CRFs: spike rate as a function of contrast) on the prevailing contrast. The influence of this contrast gain control has not been reported at nonoptimal drift rates. We calculated the Fish...

Continuous dependence on coefficients for stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative Levy Noise and monotone nonlinearity

Semilinear stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative L'evy noise are considered‎. ‎The drift term is assumed to be monotone nonlinear and with linear growth‎. ‎Unlike other similar works‎, ‎we do not impose coercivity conditions on coefficients‎. ‎We establish the continuous dependence of the mild solution with respect to initial conditions and also on coefficients. ‎As corollaries of ...

Drift Theory in Continuous Search Spaces: Expected Hitting Time of the (1+1)-ES with 1/5 Success Rule

This paper explores the use of the standard approach for proving runtime bounds in discrete domains—often referred to as drift analysis—in the context of optimization on a continuous domain. Using this framework we analyze the (1+1) Evolution Strategy with one-fifth success rule on the sphere function. To deal with potential functions that are not lower-bounded, we formulate novel drift theorem...
